Description / Heddon Bone Spectrum Series

About Bone Spectrum

The Heddon Bone Spectrum Series puts a layered bone finish on the One Knocker Spook, Super Zara Spook and Super Spook Jr. The idea is straightforward: keep the same color story while changing the sound or profile to suit the bite.

A classic bone foundation is tinted with a spectrum of pearls. A dark lateral line and muscle bars sit over a ghosted silver scale pattern, while semi-transparent sides reveal the bone beneath. A solid pearled belly completes the contrast between the lighter body and darker markings.

Bone Spectrum is a limited run across all three models. Each brings a different role to the series, from a pronounced knock to a silent presentation or a smaller forage profile.

When to Use It

Use Bone Spectrum when bass are feeding at the surface or you want to work a topwater around their holding areas. Start with the conditions in front of you: wind and off-color water favor the One Knocker recommendation; calm, clear water points toward the Super Zara Spook; smaller forage points toward the Super Spook Jr.

The series also covers different targets. Try the One Knocker around grass and over deep open points, the Super Zara Spook along sparse grass edges, docks and retaining walls, and the Jr. around bass recovering from the spawn or guarding fry. These are starting selections; let the fish's response guide your next choice.

How to Fish It

Fish these Spooks with a walk-the-dog retrieve: repeated rod twitches make the lure glide from side to side across the surface. Leave a little slack between twitches so the bait can turn instead of simply dragging forward. Make a long cast where space allows and work toward a repeatable rhythm.

If fish stop responding, try a different sound or profile before leaving the area. You can move from the One Knocker to the silent Super Zara Spook, or try the smaller Jr. when the forage calls for it. For more technique detail, read Lurenet's guide to walking the dog.

Choosing Your Spook

Choose by sound and forage size. The two larger models offer different sound presentations, while the Jr. gives you a smaller profile in the same Bone Spectrum finish.

Heddon One Knocker Spook

4 1/2 in. · 3/4 oz. A single heavy knock makes this the series' starting choice for wind, off-color water, grass areas and deep open points.

Heddon Super Zara Spook

4.5 in · 3/4 oz. The silent option for calm, clear water and a subtler approach along sparse grass edges, boat docks and retaining walls.

Heddon Super Spook Jr.

3 1/2 in · 1/2 oz. The smaller profile for matching smaller forage, including post-spawn bass and fish guarding fry.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Bone Spectrum?

Bone Spectrum is a limited-run color series for three Heddon Spook models. It combines pearl-tinted bone, semi-transparent sides, a dark lateral line and muscle bars, ghosted silver scales, and a solid pearled belly.

Which Heddon models come in Bone Spectrum?

The Bone Spectrum Series includes the Heddon One Knocker Spook, Super Zara Spook and Super Spook Jr. The One Knocker and Super Zara offer larger profiles with different sound presentations; the Jr. is the smaller-forage option.

Which Bone Spectrum Spook should I use in wind or off-color water?

Start with the One Knocker Spook. Its single heavy knock is the series' recommended sound presentation for wind and off-color water, with grass areas and deep open points among the suggested targets.

Which Bone Spectrum model is silent?

The Super Zara Spook is the silent option in the Bone Spectrum Series. Start with it when the surface is calm and the water is clear, especially along sparse grass edges, docks and retaining walls.

When should I choose the Super Spook Jr.?

Choose the Super Spook Jr. when bass are feeding on smaller forage. Its smaller profile is also a starting choice for post-spawn bass and fish guarding fry.

Why is my Spook pulling straight instead of walking side to side?

Try leaving a little slack between rod twitches. Tight line can pull a walking bait forward instead of letting it turn. Work toward a repeatable twitch-and-slack rhythm so the lure can glide from side to side.

Is Bone Spectrum a limited release?

Yes. Bone Spectrum is a limited run across the One Knocker Spook, Super Zara Spook and Super Spook Jr.
