Description / Bobby Garland® 2.25" Minnow Mind'R

About This Product

The Bobby Garland® Minnow Mind'R gives crappie anglers a baitfish profile they can fish alone or pair with a live minnow. Use it when you want to switch between a soft-plastic presentation and live bait while keeping added color and twin-tail movement in the rig.

The 2.25-inch body carries twin tails that spread and pulse as the bait moves. Swim it through open water, work it around brush or fish it vertically beside timber. When tipped with a live minnow, the plastic adds a visual accent to the live bait's natural movement.

Each pack contains 12 Minnow Mind'R soft plastics.

When to Use It

Choose the Minnow Mind'R for crappie feeding around baitfish, holding near cover or suspending in open water. Vertical fishing and dock shooting are useful starting presentations; it also fits slip-cork fishing, spider rigging and long-line trolling.

  • Spring and spawn: Swim it around creek channels, secondary points and staging brush. Around docks and shallow cover, try a slip cork or dock-shooting presentation.
  • Post-spawn through summer: Count the bait down before swimming it over brush, or target suspended fish and deep timber with vertical presentations.
  • Fall: Follow baitfish into creeks and work wind-blown banks or open-water schools.
  • Winter: Slow the retrieve and use small vertical movements or a gentle pendulum swing beside the fish.
How to Fish It

Fish it on a jighead

For the spring swimming approach, start with a 1/16 oz to 1/8 oz jighead. Use a steady swim with occasional pauses around staging cover. For vertical fishing, lower the bait to the fish and use small rod movements, slowing down when fish are reluctant to follow.

Add a live minnow

Tip the rig with a live minnow when you want live-bait movement with the Minnow Mind'R's added color and flash. Try this combination beneath a slip cork, on a spider rig or in a vertical presentation.

Target fish with forward-facing sonar

Cast beyond the fish and swim the bait toward it. Pause, then add small rod pops to vary the twin-tail movement. Watch the fish's response and adjust the pace rather than repeating the same retrieve.

Adjust the profile

For a smaller presentation, trim a little material from the nose before rerigging. This shortens the body and changes where the hook exits relative to the tail.

Choosing a Color

Use water clarity as a starting point for color selection. In clear water, try natural baitfish patterns or translucent options. In stained water, try darker contrast patterns; in dirty water, consider colors with chartreuse or white. Adjust your selection to the fish's response.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I fish the Minnow Mind'R without a live minnow?

Yes. The Minnow Mind'R can be fished as a standalone soft plastic or tipped with a live minnow. Its twin-tail profile suits swimming and vertical presentations, giving you an option for either approach.

What size is the Minnow Mind'R, and how many come in a pack?

The Minnow Mind'R measures 2.25 inches and comes in a 12-count pack of soft plastic baits.

How do I use the Minnow Mind'R with live bait?

Tip the rig with a live minnow to combine live-bait movement with the plastic's color and flash. Slip-cork fishing, spider rigging and vertical presentations are suggested ways to fish the combination.

What jighead weight should I start with?

For swimming the Minnow Mind'R around spring staging brush, creek channels and secondary points, start with a 1/16 oz to 1/8 oz jighead. That recommendation applies to this presentation rather than every depth or technique.

Can I use the Minnow Mind'R with forward-facing sonar?

Yes. Cast beyond a located fish, swim the bait toward it, then pause and add small rod pops. Use the fish's response to guide your retrieve speed and amount of movement.

Can I shorten the Minnow Mind'R for a smaller presentation?

Yes. Trim a little material from the nose before rerigging to shorten the body. This also changes the hook exit point relative to the tail, so check the rig after trimming.
