5 Fabulous NEW Fishing Lures from ICAST 2024
Let’s look at some of the most exciting lures that are being introduced at the ICAST show, including hard and soft baits, topwater and subsurface offerings, and lures that will produce several species of fish!

July delivers doldrums for certain styles of fishing. That would be tough to deny. However, it is among the most exciting months of the year for many anglers because it’s the time when new fishing gear gets introduced to the angling world at the America Sportfishing Association’s ICAST show, which is going on right now in Orlando.
At Lurenet, we’re excited about introductions from several of the brands we carry. We’ve been testing and doing photo and video work with some of these baits for the past year and have been more than a little eager to share.
The Great Lakes Finesse Hover Minnow and Spin'n Image are available now. Watch for the others over the next month or two on Lurenet and at fishing retailers across the country.
Great Lakes Finesse 2.75-inch Hover Minnow
Jig-minnow fishing or Cindy rigging has become so popular for big smallmouth bass that the fish are starting to get wise to even the stealthiest finesse presentations. Always staying a step ahead of the game, Great Lakes Finesse developed the Hover Minnow, which adds a new twist to these presentations.
Although similar in appearance to the highly effective GLF Drop Minnow, the Hover Minnow has a concave belly and a small fork at the tail. The design, which differs from anything else on the market, creates an entirely new action that anglers have already begun dubbing “hover darting.”
The Hover Minnow darts unpredictably with the slightest lift before returning to center when fished vertically. It likewise darts irregularly with slight twitches during reeling presentations and spirals on the fall – both potent strike triggers for smallmouth bass.
The GLF Hover Minnow is 2.75 inches long and comes in 14 colors, all hand-picked for different smallmouth bass fishing situations. It’s designed to be matched with a GLF Sneaky Swimbait Head for swimming and bottom working presentations and a GLF Hanging Head for vertical presentations.
Heddon Spin’N Image

We’re bubbling with excitement over the newest member of the Heddon Spit’n Image Family of lures. The new Heddon Spin’n Image puts a new spin on the proven shad profile of the Spit’n Image, with a rotating tail that creates a subtle buzz as the bait crosses the surface.
A small hole in the tail helps set apart the Spin’n Image from other buzzing/gurgling topwater lures, altering the sound and creating a bubble trail. This finesse topwater lure is extra valuable for fishing in clear water and for times when soaring air pressure, heavy fishing pressure or other conditions make the fish more tentative.
The Spin’n Image tail turns with even the slowest forward motion, allowing for true coaxing presentations. However, the same lure can be burned to prompt attacks and will continue to run true at high speeds.
The Spin’n Image is 3.5 inches long and weighs 1/2 ounce and can be cast effectively on spinning or baitcasting tackle. It comes armed with sharp, No. 4 black nickel trebles.
Bandit Walleye Shad

Bandit Lures, already known for producing the most effective walleye fishing crankbaits on the market, is raising the bar even higher with the Walleye Shad, a new shad-style crankbait that is outstanding for trolling and casting.
The Walleye Shad begins with anatomically accurate shad shaping and 14 carefully crafted walleye colors. Features include flat sides to match a shad and suggest an easy meal, a tight wiggle, and an elongated lip that allows the bait to dive quickly to the strike zone. The Walleye Shad is equipped with a through-body casting system to make long casts easy. It also suspends to keep the bait in the strike zone through inside turns when trolling and to allow anglers to pause it in key spots during casting presentations.
Colors range from natural imitations of important walleye forage to bright attractor patterns, which can be critical to prompting walleye bites some days. The Walleye Shad is also available in Clear for anglers who like to paint custom colors.
Although developed largely with walleye trolling in mind, the Walleye Shad lends itself nicely to casting applications, and four sizes ranging from 2 3/8 to 3 5/8 inches make this crankbait an excellent option for any gamefish species that ever feeds on shad or similar baitfish species.
BOOYAH Flash Point Minnow

Forward facing sonar has forever changed the way many anglers fish for bass, and BOOYAH is changing jerkbait fishing with the new Flash Point Jerkbait, which provides an unparalleled live sonar return, allowing anglers to accurately track the bait when “sight fishing” with electronics.
The Flash Point name comes from the innovative insertion of a blade across the head of this premium jerkbait. The signature blade, which is sonically welded into a cavity so that it cannot fall out, serves two critical functions. First, it creates a dramatically better return on forward facing sonar. In addition, it creates subtle flash to enhance visibility and provide bass a defined aiming point, resulting in more hook-ups.
Created with extensive input from elite pro staffers who had been calling for a premium jerkbait to fish with forward facing sonar, the Flash Point features a narrow profile that facilitates a highly responsive action and suggests an easy target. A broader rounded back and belly accurately mimic shad or herring. Etched scales and fins, along with intricate painting, create an exceptionally lifelike appearance.
The action, triggered by every snap of the rod tip, is quick and highly erratic, and the Flash Point remains at the same level of the water column whether it is darting or resting. The Flash Point dives 4 to 6 feet when cast and reeled down and is engineered to suspend at a 40-degree nose-down angle when paused to imitate a dying baitfish. A weight-transfer system, which utilizes tungsten beads, allows for long casts, which can be critical for fishing jerkbaits, especially in clear water.
The Flash Point jerkbait is 4.25 inches long and weighs 1/2 ounce. It comes armed with three No 6 ultra-sharp carbon steel SS finish treble hooks. It comes in 12 exclusive colors, including highly natural baitfish imitations and attractor patterns.
Rebel LIVEflex Series

Rebel Lures has a long tradition producing lures with natural shapes and color patterns to match gamefish forage species. Iconic and ever-productive “critter baits,” such as the Rebel Crawfish, Crickhopper and Hellgrammite, appeal to many fish species and are easy to use.
Rebel is building on that tradition with a new series of LIVEflex soft plastic lures, which imitate some of the same forage types but with the flowing movement only soft baits can provide, strong fish-attracting scent and built-in posturing that enhances visibility and builds realism. The new Rebel Creek Craw, Creek Creature, Cata Crawler, Hopper and Shore Shiner mimic the appearance and behavior of the most popular menu items for various predator fish species in creeks, ponds, rivers and lakes.
Infused with a strong, natural attractant that fish can smell and taste, the LIVEflex material is also ultra-durable, highly flexible and buoyant. Durability means spending more time fishing and less time changing baits. Flexibility maximizes natural movement in the water. Buoyancy allows for stand-up postures to better mimic nature and increase visibility to the fish.
The new Rebel LIVEflex baits are all 1 3/4 to 2 inches in length and sized to appeal to panfish, bass, trout and more. Each comes in realistic colors created to match that specific bait.
Designed to be matched with 1/10- and 1/16-ounce Rebel KEG Jig Heads, all LIVEflex baits come with one bait pre-rigged on each jig head size, plus one extra 1/16-ounce head. The KEG heads roll over rocks and other cover and allow for great stand-up bottom presentations and are well balanced for swimming baits.
