Few anglers reach the legendary status that this country boy from Cookson, Okla., has achieved. For more than 30 years Houston has brought his fishing show, Jimmy Houston Outdoors, to viewers across the nation. It consistently ranked as the No. 1 outdoors show for 20 years when it was carried by ESPN. Houston was inducted into the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame in 1990 and the Professional Bass Fishing Hall of Fame in 2002. He was inducted into the IGFA Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame and the Legends of the Outdoors Hall of Fame in 2008. He was named Jim Thorpe Man of the Year in 2004. In addition to his television show, Houston has authored three books.
