Tricks And Tips For The YUM Tube

When you use a YUM Tube, most of the time you’ll fish it Texas rigged. However, try fishing it weightless with just an Excalibur Tx3 Wide Gap Hook. This method works best when flipping.

When fishing the YUM Tube, I find it helpful to place a cotton ball in the nose of the tube and fill it with YUM Attractant, which allows the attractant to slowly release. Also, I pack a small piece of Alka-Seltzer in the cotton ball to release bubbles that mimic crawfish.

I also dye the tails of the Tubes with colors that are more conducive to water and weather conditions.

When fishing the YUM Tube in the spring, pitch it out and let it sit on the bottom for about 30 seconds. Then, gently move the rod tip to drag the bait four or five inches while remaining in contact with the bottom or structure. Continuous slow motion will eventually provoke a fish to strike. At the time of a strike, the line will move or jump to the right or left – set the hook immediately.

I recommend using YUM Attractant on all baits – not only to attract fish, but to eliminate all traces of human scent. It has been my experience that YUM Attractant creates a feeding frenzy.
