What was your biggest tournament win and why?
It’s got to be the first tournament I ever won. It was the Reelfoot Lake buddy bass tournament. It was one of the first I ever fished – just a small local pickup tournament held every year. It started the fire in me and I thought, “Ooooo I gotta have more of this.”

What’s your go-to when nothing is going right?
Shakey head.

What do you like about fishing tournaments?
I like the preparation and strategy and solving the puzzle.

What’s your fishing goal?
To be able to have a career in the fishing industry, and enjoy fishing, mentor youth and win.

What’s something few people know about you?
I’m taking the biggest risk I’ve ever taken in my life. And I’m content whether I pass or fail. I had a comfortable job and the risk is huge financially, huge from a relationship standpoint with your spouse, it’s huge from a stress standpoint and it puts you in the spotlight and in front and everyone’s watching.

It’s either that or that I once took a yoga class when I was in college that was taught by actor Woody Harrelson while he was making a movie nearby. They selected a group of students that was mostly girls. I figure it was just a way for him to meet college girls while he was in town.
